Adobe Acrobat Displaying Strange Symbols

If Adobe Acrobat displays strange fonts/symbols within the program, it may be relying on system fonts rather than document fonts. Follow the instructions below for assistance. If the PDF displays appropriately, but does not print appropriately, follow the instructions here. 1. On your computer, navigate to Start Menu > Settings > Devices 2. From the left navigation menu, select Printers & Scanners. In the menu pane, select Adobe PDF > Manage ![]() 3. From the Manage your device page, select Printing Preferences. Then from the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences page, uncheck Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts, then select Apply. ![]() 4. From the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences window, select the Paper/Quality tab > Advanced... > From the Adobe PDF Converter Advanced Options window, select the TrueType Font dropdown menu and choose Download as Softfont. ![]() 5. Next, if necessary, click the subtree icons to expand Document Options > PostScript Options. Select the TrueType Font Download Option drop down menu and select Native TrueType. Click OK. ![]() 6. Open Adobe Acrobat program, then from the top toolbar, select Edit > Preferences 7. From the Preferences window, select Page Display. Under Rendering section, uncheck Use Local Fonts > OK. ![]() 8.
