VMware Horizon Client: Connect to Workstation on Mobile (Tablet/Smartphone)

Note: Some menus may look slightly different depending on operating system and application software version. 



Initial Setup



1. Download and install the VMware Horizon Client application from your mobile device's app store (ex. Google Play or iOS App Store). Open the app when complete.

2. On the initial setup screen, enter the following:
  • Server Name or Address: sc1.nesc.k12.mn.us
  • Server Description (optional): NESC
Click Connect



3. If prompted with a Security Warning, click CONTINUE




3. Enter standard domain login credentials. Make sure the drop down menu is selected to NESC, then select Login.





4. Select TechVM
 



5. Wait for a few moments while the application begins Loading Desktop




6. Your workstation should appear on your mobile device. It is recommended to tilt your screen horizontally (make sure Auto-Rotate feature is turned ON in your device's settings) for a better experience. 




7. Use the Radial Menu (circular dot pattern-typically on the right side of the screen) to pull up menu options such as a virtual keyboard to type.

To Disconnect:


1. Select Radial Menu, then click the Disconnect button (power plug icon).




2. Click DISCONNECT to close the session.
