VMware Horizon Client: Connect to Workstation on Laptop

Make sure VMware Horizon Client application is installed on your device.
  • If you do NOT have VMware Horizon Client installed on your device:


1. Connect your mobile device to a network


2. Open VMware Horizon Client application



3. Connect to sc1.nesc.k12.mn.us

  • If this is not an available option, add it by clicking New Server in the upper left, type sc1.nesc.k12.mn.us then click Connect


4. If you receive a pop-up on VMware Horizon Client, click Continue



5. Enter your Duo/domain username and password credentials (standard computer and email login credentials), then select Login.



6. At this time, you may be prompted to authenticate with Duo for multifactor authentication
  • If you have your the Duo Mobile app, enter the number 1 for push approval from the app. If not, enter the number 2 to receive a text code to copy into the login screen. 


7. On the next page, select your connection server to connect to your virtual machine. In most cases, this will either be TechVM or TechVM10.

8. You will now be logged into your office workstation

To Disconnect:

To fully log off of the virtual machine:

  • From the VMware Horizon Client toolbar on the top of the screen, select Options, then Disconnect and Log Off
  • Click OK to disconnect and log off of the machine

 

To disconnect your session but continue where you left off:

  • Click the close icon (X) on the toolbar, then click OK to verify disconnection from the session
    • You may also navigate to Options > Disconnect
